KAPUSKASING – He hasn’t been out of the mayor’s chair for long, but Alan Spacek isn’t taking much of a break.

The former mayor has decided to help North Centennial Manor with their gazeebo and walking path project and says Model Towners can expect to see him soon as he ramps up his efforts.

Spacek and his wife Debbie (along with grandson Théo Bérubé, recently presented a cheque for $1,000 to North Centennial Manor Family Council members Jean Blythe and Dana McIntyre.

“Deb and I are very grateful to the family council for undertaking this project for the manor residents. It is much needed and will be well used,” he said. “Our community is again benefiting from a group of dedicated volunteers to increase the quality of life for our residents. I would encourage others to contribute whatever they can to this most worthwhile project”.
