MOONBEAM – With cottaging and camping season approaching, the Friends of Remi Lake will be holding a membership drive this Saturday from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Rather fittingly, volunteers will be stationed on Tower Rd. and Remi Lake Rd. (the two main arteries to get to the lake) ready to issue memberships at a cost of $20 for the year.

Those who purchase their membership by May 18, will have their names entered into a draw for a set Remi Lake coffee mugs.

Funds generated by membership fees allow the Friends of Remi Lake to conduct activities aimed at improvements around the lake such as the dock at Gagnon’s Bay landing, libraries, information sessions and the purchase and placement of buoys marking rocks in the body of water, the virtual fish derby, a golf tournament, a volunteer appreciation luncheon and a Canada Day parade to name but a few.

Those who purchase memberships are also welcomed to join the volunteer group in their activities.
