Recently, Larabie’s Your Independent Grocer owners Dave and Emmanuelle Larabie were joined by staff members as they ventured to French-public school Coeur du Nord with a goal toward promoting healthy snacking habits among the students.
“It’s part of an initiative called ‘Raise a Food Lover’,” explained Ms. Larabie. “The program partners our stores with local schools to promote nutrition, eating well, providing food knowledge, and the discovery of the great flavours possible through nutritional choices.”
The owners and staff made their way to several classrooms in the school, handing out bags of healthy snacks including fruit and vegetables with the hopes that it will encourage students to seek out healthier choices and relay those wishes to their parents.
